Letter to the Editor
President Bush, please unify our
nation!
July 9, 2005
Today, Final
Exit Network issued the following Letter to the Editor to
encourage President Bush to nominate a Supreme Court candidate
who will follow in the footsteps of Sandra Day O'Connor.
We encourage all readers to submit this letter
to the editor to their local papers. This effort will be most
effective if you also submit a similar letter of your own
over your own signature. Generally, letters to the editor
are limited to about 200 words.
Please do not submit the Final Exit Network
organizational information on the same page as our letter.
Instead, submit it on a separate sheet enclosed with the letter.
Please help us build our list of media contacts
by sending us email addresses for key contacts at your local
newspapers, television stations and news/talk radio stations.
Thank you for your help and support!
Earl Wettstein President
President Bush, please unify our
nation!
To the Editor:
Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor will
be missed. She brought a much-needed balance to an often politically-divided
Supreme Court. Justice O'Connor's unflagging defense of states'
rights and individual freedoms upheld the principles upon
which our nation was established. During her long and distinguished
career, Justice O'Connor earned high praise from Republicans
and Democrats alike for her non-partisan, moderate, thoughtful
adherence to the rule of law.
Final Exit Network implores President Bush to
nominate a non-partisan judicial candidate who will follow
in Justice O'Connor's footsteps. We urge the President to
put forward a candidate who will carry the banner for states'
rights, including each state's right to regulate medical practice.
We appeal to Mr. Bush to select a candidate who will doggedly
defend the individual freedoms our Founding Fathers embedded
in the Constitution, including the freedom to exercise the
last human right-the right to peaceful, dignified death.
President Bush, please seize this opportunity
to unify our nation and maintain balance-not ideology-on the
Supreme Court.
"Until
laws protect the right of every adult to a peaceful, dignified
death, Final Exit Network will be there to support those who
need relief from their suffering today!"
